Cantoo’s debut album is a beauty...a great work of art. Absolute Must-Have.
— Plug in, Baby!

The debut album from Edmonton’s Cantoo is the culmination of years of experience. Band founder, Aaron Parker played in various bands in his hometown of Edmonton Alberta (including local favorites, the Whitsundays), developing a keen ear for melody and a deep understanding of 60’s pop. All those lessons and more were put into practice as he wrote and recorded this fully realized album of melodic gems. During the recording process, Parker took time to indulge a growing love for the founders of electronic music. Soon vintage synthesizers found their way into almost every song. The effect is an intriguing undercurrent of sparkling retrofuturistic tones and noises which serve to highlight and contrast the more traditional 60’s sounds. The songs burst with familiarity while still sounding new. As the album took shape, a band of collaborators was brought in including Tim Batke (of Faunts) and Brock Tyler. Together they created an album that instantly charms and grows deeper with repeated listens.
